2018-05-29 :: The Research Project "The Study of the Dynamics of the Specialization of Cities - Capitals of Russian Regions" of the Leontief Centre Chair Ends

On May 28, the student research project "The Study of the Dynamics of the Specialization of Cities - Capitals of Russian Regions", initiated by the Leontief Centre Chair in HSE St. Petersburg in 2018, summed up its results at the Leontief Centre’s Conference Hall.

6 bachelors of the 3rd year, Public and Municipal Administration educational programme, St. Petersburg School of Social Sciences and Humanities, took part in the project, led by Olga Rusetskaya, Associate Professor of the Leontief Centre Chair, Cand. Sc. (Economics).

9 regional centers have been selected for the study. In the course of work, students created a database on the average number of employees in organizations by types of economic activity in 2010-2016; calculated location quotients and prepared a final presentation, which included general information on the city, analysis of location quotients by types of economic activity with emphasis on the specialization sectors, and the rationale for the sectoral type of the city.
