2018-09-13 :: Cities.Multimodal Project Activities in Pskov

On September 12-13, the following Cities.Multimodal project activities with the support of the Leontief Centre, an associated partner, were held in Pskov:

  • traffic flow measurements in the historical centre of the city of Pskov;
  • a focus group to discuss the results achieved and further Project activities;
  • a meeting with the Head of Pskov City Administration aimed to discuss the development of the Multimodality Concept in Pskov.
     

During the working meetings and the focus group, Olga Iakimenko, Head of Internet Projects and Marketing Communications at ICSER Leontief Centre, Development Coordinator of Green Mobility Partnership Initiative, and Kristina Kobyz, Chairwoman of Pskov Committee for Cross-Border Cooperation and Tourism, presented the interim results of the Pskov Urban Transport Survey, which was addressed to urban residents to identify the key challenges of urban transport (http://mobility.leontief-centre.ru/vote.html).

Project activities include the development of a Sustainable Urban Mobility Plan (SUMP), which defines a common approach to solving mobility challenges, inter-agency cooperation and integration, combining efforts of all stakeholders, including representatives of local authorities, business community and the public. A SUMP is both a forward-looking strategy and a living document.
