2018-08-07 :: Russia-US Summer Urban Redevelopment Studio of the University of Maryland, SPb GASU and NRU HSE-St Petersburg

On July 9–August 3, the Russia-US Summer Urban Redevelopment Studio, aimed to develop architectural and economic proposals for the redevelopment of a site in the former industrial zone of St Petersburg, was held at SPb GASU. Students had been working on a redevelopment plan for the former industrial zone, adjacent to the Arsenal Machine-Building Plant and Vyborgskaya Embankment (from Finlyandsky Railway Station to the former Kresty Prison).

Leonid Limonov, Director-Coordinator for Research Programmes at ICSER Leontief Centre, took part in most studio activities and gave a lecture on territorial planning and spatial development of the St. Petersburg agglomeration. Irina Karelina, Director-General of ICSER Leontief Centre, attended the final presentation of the project proposals on August 7.
